There is a huge difference between observing the problem, and actually doing something about it.
You can watch the problem play out, maybe getting better, maybe getting worse. You can feel sorry, for all the people the problem has unleashed it's misfortune upon. You can tell other people how they could fix the problem. You could lay it out, step by step for them. You can cry, if the problem is overbearing. You can become furious with the world for letting the problem become bigger and bigger. You can be annoyed with all the people who just sit there and complain. You can comment on the problem, suggesting solutions, or just complain about it yourself.
But I, do not want to hear any of this, if you do not do anything about it yourself.
The problem could be the starving children in Africa, it could be bad grades, pressure from a job or school, pollution, cancer, boredom, money issues, abortion, immodesty. The problem could be anything!!!
I am not saying that you can always do something. In some cases the only thing you can really do is pray. But praying is still doing something! And I'm also not saying that you shouldn't feel sorry for yourself if something in your life isn't ok. I absolutely believe that you should definatly be able to take a day off, or go see a movie, or just take a break. But you shouldn't do that for the rest of your life. If there is something you can do, do it. Don't just sit around and complain. Our generation is going to shape the world for the next 100 years or so. So if we just sit on our couches watching the world get worse and worse, we should be ashamed of ourselves. Just take it step by step, and try to change something people. The first thing you can do is change yourself. From there on, you could change the world.
